Let's try and not get swept at least. We have our new Ace on the mound so we might have a chance.

Stig, Sean McD and Angry lou on the EEI mikes again for today's game.

I cut out for awhile last night to watch the 4th episode of Ken Burn's Country Music documentary series.

Can't say that I am a big fan of Country these days but as a young lad just loved Patsy Cline and Hank Williams. Stories so simple and so honest set to melody that even a young lad like me could make sense of them.

I like Blake Shelton and Paul brandt and Luke Bryan. That's about it.

Gorkys and Owings in the same line-up. Be careful, BUM.

It was their phrasing that grabbed you by the gut and would not let you go although I was too young at the time to know it was called phrasing. Give Patsy a song that she truly loved to sing and she would tie you in knots with it. Virtually everything Hank did got you in some way shape or form. Hank was consistently great. Patsy's high points were simply hard to match, just over the top but her low points were below Hank's standard IMO.

Patsy's arrangements were more refined but it hardly mattered. If she loved the song she was singing, you knew it and they could have put a monkey with an organ grinder behind her. Would not have mattered. Hank's arrangements were much less refined but his phrasing one tune to the next was about unmatched for its consistent excellence.

Gorkys should legally change his last name from Hernandez to Hideaway.
