    Marco Hernandez non-tendered

The man many (including Soxprospects.com) penciled in as the starting 2b.

Also, Josh Osich was non-tendered. We hardly knew ya...

I think we acquire someone or Chavis gets first look at 2B.

Maybe I meant the utility infielder job.

Travis Shaw also got non-tendered. Reunion?

I think we are hoping nobody claims Marco and we send him to AAA as depth.

We have too many Travis Shaw types already.

Marco Hernandez was not waived; he was non-tendered, making him a free agent immediately without going through the waiver process.

The Red Sox -- or any team -- could sign Hernandez to a minor-league (or MLB) contract.

If not for all the injuries. Who knows what could have been.

Josh Ockimey is NOT a “Travis Shaw type”...

The weird thing is, we kept a hold of him through all those injuries, and when he finally got healthy, we non tendered him.

    We're under new management.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

I know they won't do it because of his past, but the guy out there with the most talent who can play 2B, SS and 3B is Addison Russell. He is only 25 and can be an all star. Someone is going to give him a chance. They should also pursue Blake Treinen and see if they can get him right.

We'd likely have to free up some salary to sign the better players, and with so many open roster spots, I think it will happen.

Yollmer Sanchez is Addison Russell without the offensive potential and domestic abuse allegations.

I don’t like the idea of signing Russell, but I’m not against second chances. But it’s worth noting, he was truly horrible to the mother of his child...
