    If I had a vote, I'd go...

    Walker
    Bonds
    Clemens
    Manny

Schilling is close- maybe last ballot material.

I'd never vote for one of the worst defensive SS of his era to the HOF.
BTW, if you don't like DJ because of his defense, why do you like Manny Ramirez with his -21.7 dWAR???? double standard perhaps?

answer yes/no to the following questions:
Did Derek Jeter refuse to move from SS when the team acquired one of the GOAT SS?
Jeter was also one of the GOAT SS's who had 4 rings when ARod showed up. ARod offered to move to 3b

Did Derek Jeter hold Cashman and the yankees hostage and do a PR hissy fit negotiating his final contract?
Didn't Ortiz? Didn't Manny? Every player tries to hold their team's by the balls to get more money. Welcome to baseball economics 101. I think you are missing something here. Jeter was a hell of an offensive force, even to the end. He had a slash line of .316/.362/.429 in 2012 when the Yanks went to the ALCS. He broke his ankle that post season and missed nearly the entire following season due to complications. His final contract was a last hurrah season, but it also was one where there was optimism that he could still be an offensive force. His last healthy season's slash line was pretty solid and he was going to do it one more time. He didn't end up being any good, but asking for and getting what he got for a last hurrah of an all time great player is economics. Unless you're a socialist pig?

Did Derek Jeter force the Yankees to wear the Re2pect patch for a month and invite the "retirement tour" which splintered the clubhouse and no doubt was a main factor in the NYY missing the postseason for the first time in a million seasons?
They missed the POs in 2013 without him. I doubt he "forced" anyone to wear a patch. My bet is the Yankees front office realized they weren't going to the POs in 2014 and "forced" everyone to wear it
    Hal sucks

You're just a Jeter hater. The guy won 5 rings. He went to the POs 17 times. He amassed 3,465 hits. His triple slash was .310/.377/.440 over 12,602 PAs. His post season line was pretty similar, cementing himself as a great post season player. He's an auto-in. But he won't be unanimous. Not because he shouldn't be, but because the HOF inductees get a vote and he did them dirty in Florida when he took over the Marlins. He'll be a 98%er
    Hal sucks

So far, Bonds and Clemens haven’t gained or lost substantially any votes from those who revealed their ballots last time. Those who don’t reveal are typically older and anti steroids.

    Not getting in.

Konerko, Lee and Giambi getting any votes is more egregious than Jeter not getting 100%.

Schilling’s projected increase of 5% (through 130ish claimed votes at this point last time) would still only get him to 65% overall. He needs to have a far greater increase from writers who disclose.

    He was selfish? yes.
He put himself above the team? yes (specially in the last years)

But even is you don't like him he's a HOF
Selfishness has nothing to do with my opinion.

He was a very good hitter, especially for a SS, but to me his defense was so bad it made him just an overall very good player- maybe even great, but not great enough for the HOF.

I'm pretty tight with my HOF expectations. I'm not even sure Schilling belongs.

I'm not delusional- some voters are.

When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Manny was, perhaps, the greatest RH'd hitter of our era and maybe even alltime. Jeter was a good hitting SS. I think it's apples to oranges.

Besides, a sucky defensive LF'er does not hurt the team as much as a sucky defensive SS.

Who cares, if ARod offered to move? (Not that he was all that much better on D than Jete at SS.

also...i live in the area so i heard/read all about it in realtime in the early 2000's so it's not revisionist history.
there were alot of articles written about it over the years and you can certainly google them for yourself.
here's one that i find pretty spot on to my feelings on the matter:

Based on your expectations, if DJ doesn't belong, we should remove most of the ones already in the HOF
