    2020 HOF Vote Tracker

Just to add something different to discuss, getting a little tired of this very slow beginning of the year

I found this very interesting page were they track all the ballots made public by the voters

    http://www.bbhoftracker.com/2019/11/...d-leaderboard/

As of today (35% of the ballots):

The following players will get in (at least 75%):
    Derek Jeter 100.0%
    Larry Walker 85.0%
    Curt Schilling 80.3%
    Barry Bonds 76.2%
Roger Clemens 74.8% (only one vote away)

The following players won't get the votes required:
    Scott Rolen 49.7%
    Omar Vizquel 46.3%
    Gary Sheffield 38.8%
    Manny Ramirez 36.1%
    Todd Helton 35.4%
    Billy Wagner 33.3%
    Jeff Kent 28.6%
    Andruw Jones 26.5%
    Sammy Sosa 18.4%
    Andy Pettitte 12.2%
    Bobby Abreu 6.8%

Finally the players which won't get the minimum votes (5%) to stay on the ballot:
    Cliff Lee 0.7%
    Paul Konerko 0.7%
    Jason Giambi 0.7%
    Eric Chávez 0.0%
    Rafael Furcal 0.0%
    Alfonso Soriano 0.0%
    Josh Beckett 0.0%
    Heath Bell 0.0%
    Adam Dunn 0.0%
    Chone Figgins 0.0%
    Raúl Ibañez 0.0%
    Carlos Peña 0.0%
    Brad Penny 0.0%
    JJ Putz 0.0%
    Brian Roberts 0.0%
    José Valverde 0.0%

If the trend continues this will be the year when the first known PED users might get in the HOF: Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens (if he closes the gap to 75%)

Three extremely underrated players not getting nearly enough votes in this projection are Omar Vizquel, Andruw Jones, and Billy Wagner. Seriously, how are all three of these guys behind Scott Rolen?

Also surprised to see Manny Ramirez that low, if Bonds and Clemens are getting a pass from most of the voters, then Manny should have more votes.

Specially Vizquel, if Ozzie Smith is in, Vizquel should get more votes, prime examples of glove first SS

answer yes/no to the following questions:
Did Derek Jeter refuse to move from SS when the team acquired one of the GOAT SS?
Did Derek Jeter hold Cashman and the yankees hostage and do a PR hissy fit negotiating his final contract?
Did Derek Jeter force the Yankees to wear the Re2pect patch for a month and invite the "retirement tour" which splintered the clubhouse and no doubt was a main factor in the NYY missing the postseason for the first time in a million seasons?

It's funny seeing some of the guys on that list with 0%. Like did Brad Penny and Chone Figgins really think they had a shot???

I'm surprised to see Beckett with 0% too, I know he doesn't have the career for the HOF but not a single vote is surprising

Do yes answers to any or all of these Qs mean he shouldn't even be on the ballot?

Look, I agree he should not be a 100% winner. The babe wasn't even that, but he deserves to be on the ballot. (I would not vote for him.)

So, you're surprised one voter wasn't stupid enough to vote for him?

Someone did vote for Giambi & Konerko, so we can rest easily tonight, knowing stupidity still reigns in the voting.

    If I had a vote, I'd go...

    Walker
    Bonds
    Clemens
    Manny

Schilling is close- maybe last ballot material.

I'd never vote for one of the worst defensive SS of his era to the HOF.

You're delusional if you think DJ doesn't belong in the HOF

Even if you don't like his fielding his bat should carry him to the HOF, he's top 10 in total hits, bWAR of 72.4, .310 avg, etc.

    He was selfish? yes.
He put himself above the team? yes (specially in the last years)

But even is you don't like him he's a HOF

I don't think Jeter will get a 100% vote. Not that he doesn't deserve it in my opinion, but people will say that so and so didn't get 100% so neither should Jeter.

The way I look at it: the people in the past who purposely didn't vote for Babe Ruth/Nolan Ryan/Griffey Jr so that they wouldn't get 100% of the vote are idiots. Why continue doing the same idiotic thing that they did? If all voters agree that someone is a clear-cut HOFer then the players should receive 100% of the votes. Having one person illogically vote against everyone else for no real reason other than to keep someone shy of 100% is just dumb. But I guess that kinda falls into the spectrum of American politics: should we continue to do dumb things for the sake of tradition?
