Mookie is one of my all time favorite Red Sox players. I don't really care what the return is, I probably wont be content and can't believe this actually happened.
Sources: #MNTwins had talks with #RedSox, #Dodgers in Mookie Betts and David Price deal. Unclear if they’re the third team involved.
It needed to be done because of the excesses of DD contracts. We will eat at least a part of the Price contract and will lose Mookie for a year, but will reset in 2020 and remain at least somewhat competitive. I will wait to see what we got in return but expect 2021 to be where we make significant moves to improve.
Nice job Bloom. Now we can get Mookie 2021-2031.
