That's just not true. Henry stated that it didn't matter if they went under or not.

Are you disagreeing with Henry?

i believed his first statement 100%. i did not believe the walkback that kennedy tried.

Henry walked it back.

He said "I reminded baseball ops that we are focused on competitiveness over the next 5 years over and above resetting. You seem to think Chaim was brought in to reduce payroll. That has simply not been the way FSG operates here or across the pond."

Clearly it was NOT a mandate. It could have been a suggestion to try, but they'd be willing to bite the bullet for another year if they had to.

He didn't say anything that can be construed as an outright lie.

You agreed that "JH mandated" getting under the luxury tax.

He outright said it was not a mandate. That it's not the way they operate.

You're right. Slasher shouldn't have used the word 'mandated' and I should have noted that.

like i said...i didnt believe the walkback. at all. i 100% believed that JH mandated (or whatever term you would prefer to use) that the Sox get under LT:

This year we need to be under the CBT and that was something we’ve known for more than a year now,” Henry said. “If you don’t reset there are penalties so we’ve known for some time now we needed to reset as other clubs have done.”

Brusdar or elguapo has something in his medicals that the Redsox believe will hinder him from ever becoming a dominant starter ....he is damaged goods .Hmmmm Edited by Swiharts Ghost

He was willing to go into this year with Betts on the books, but his preference was to trade him to get under the cap because of the future advantages a deal would provide.

We don't need another post for this. Just add it to the original post.

I'm only telling this to you now because when the mods come back in season, they are going to be pissed for having to move all your posts.

Blow it up. This is a huge red flag.

i didnt believe the walkback. that was simply the FO trying not to alienate the season tix holders....

the walkback doesnt make him a liar. it was subterfuge / smokescreen...

Can’t be Brusdar at this point he would need to be supplemented by a starter twins have no one I’m interested in at this point .Deal will need to be blown up or Dodgers have to give up Gray ,May ,type of player or no deal .

@BostonGlobe

Jim Rice says Mookie Betts told him he "wanted to stay" in Boston.

@GlobeChadFinn

If you’re going to keep making the conjecture-based argument that Mookie wanted out, you’re going to have to call Jim Rice a liar. I don’t think you want to call Jim Rice a liar.

LOL Oh boy! f***ing millennials LOL!

So this is the ultimate MLB trade tool these days and by definition the panacea, the last word and the fountain of all the truth for this regard?

If so, Who needs a GM? LOL!

Great Post.

Look, there's a reason that there are so many Red Sox fans in the rest of the country and it's not because all of those people would rather live in Boston.

What if righthander Jordan Balazovic replaces Brusdar Graterol in the deal?

Balazovic, who is three weeks younger than Graterol, lacks the latter's MLB-readiness but is similarly ranked at MLB Pipeline:

… and similarly rated at FanGraphs:

Because the Twins have the asset in question, the Dodgers should not be asked to sweeten their contribution.
