My favorite summer ever was when my parents bought us season tickets to the PAWSOX. I'm pretty sure it was the 1990 season when thinking about the autographed balls and bats I have at home. One game, I won the trivia answer and got a case of coke, an oil change and a seat warmer. My dad left the seat warmer at the last game of the year on accident.

So, now that there is a 60 man roster in effect this year, one of the big stipulations is that NOBODY can be traded this season unless they are on a 60 man roster. Does that limit the types of deals that can go down at the deadline? Seems to. Also, trade deadline is now 8/31.

The Sox announced their 60 man roster that was actually only 47. (Can they add more later? You'd think they'd add 13 more, in case they want to make a trade.)

The Red Sox’s initial 47-player pool consists of…

    Right-handed pitchers

    Matt Barnes
    Ryan Brasier
    Colten Brewer
    Austin Brice
    Nathan Eovaldi
    Heath Hembree
    Robinson Leyer
    Chris Mazza
    Collin McHugh
    Mike Shawaryn
    Domingo Tapia
    Phillips Valdez
    Marcus Walden
    Ryan Weber
    Brandon Workman
    Left-handed pitchers

    Matt Hall
    Kyle Hart
    Darwinzon Hernandez
    Brian Johnson
    Josh Osich
    Martin Perez
    Eduardo Rodriguez
    Jeffrey Springs
    Josh Taylor
    Catchers

    Jett Bandy
    Juan Centeno
    Kevin Plawecki
    Christian Vazquez
    Connor Wong
    Infielders

    Jonathan Arauz
    Xander Bogaerts
    C.J. Chatham
    Michael Chavis
    Bobby Dalbec
    Rafael Devers
    Marco Hernandez
    Tzu-Wei Lin
    Mitch Moreland
    Yairo Munoz
    Jose Peraza
    Outfielders

    John Andreoli
    Andrew Benintendi
    Jackie Bradley Jr.
    J.D. Martinez
    Kevin Pillar
    Cesar Puello
    Alex Verdugo

Leyer, Tapia and Andreoli are the only ones I don't really know. The others I recognize from ST.

Per Roenicke, the Sox starters are built up to 3-4 innings already.

Tapia is one of those guys with amazing stuff who can make a baseball do just about anything. Except cross the plate. You know the type.

Andreoli is this year’s Steve Selsky...

Who was the other 3rd catcher they had in camp this spring? The name eludes me....

He is expected to be added to the list. Right now it's just some kind of contract restructuring formality.

MLB.com listed projected lineups and rotations for each club. Every one of the Rays pitchers as ranked is arguably better than every one of the Sox pitchers. Boston's lineup is better... but Tampa also has baseball's Number One prospect on their 60-man.
