‘It didnt work out, but at the end of he day...everyone did everything we could to make this work (without surgery)...I’m more than OK with that.’
And that's the way it should be. I know a lot of people think he should have had it when he first started having elbow issues, but that's not the typical course of action to follow. I agree with Sale on this one.

On a related note, I read an article a couple of weeks ago that there is no evidence that wacky deliveries such as Sale's leads to more TJS. Trying to force a pitcher to change to a more conventional delivery, one that doesn't feel comfortable to the pitcher, probably leads to more injuries and surgeries than allowing a pitcher to go with his natural style.

Sale says limits on elective surgery led to significant delay. Cedar-Sinai wanted to make sure surgery would have ‘zero impact’ on anyone else, esp COVID-19 patients. Sale says he got tested for the virus when he got to California.
    Don't get me started.

Chris Sale had a serious illness in spring training. He tested negative for the flu. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, he is wondering if he might have had coronavirus.

I was wondering the same thing.
Interesting. As far as we know, however, no one that was in close contact with Sale became ill.

And we're way past the incubation period at this point, so anybody that might have had it would have been asymptomatic. Of course, if Sale had it, they could have still spread it

If he was treated with antibiotics and it worked, then, no.

It does seem like a lot of people who were sick in December/January think they had a virus that we have no evidence was even in the country at the time...

Chris Sale needed to be stuck in the bullpen at least 2 years ago. But nobody listened to Ole Bob.Will he come back. Doubtful, but he's the least of the Red Sox problems!

Chris Sale: "So far so good. Back rolling. As of now I'm a full go."

Regarding timetable: "We haven't gotten there yet. Just showing up and taking it a day at a time."

Sale on the neck issue: It slowed some things down, but we were on top of it and had great doctors.

I showed up yesterday like everyone else. Doing PFPs and throwing.

Says he's throwing every other day. Not throwing off a mound yet.

Sale: My elbow has been on track since day one, dealt with the neck thing. But nothing off track on (elbow wise). I was here by myself all summer so it's nice to have people back. I've been doing this a while and I've never been so excited for spring training and PFPs and drills

Sale said he spent 5 days a week at JetBlue Park last summer, when allowed (due to COVID protocols). Credits training staff in FL for helping him around.

He was the only player at the complex a lot of the time. "The last time I talked to the media, I was showering with a hose."

Sale reveals he had Covid-19 in January. Said he lost his sense of taste and smell but avoided other bad symptoms.

    Perez
    Otavino

Not the worst rotation out there.

Ottavino is a pen arm, and a good one.

    Maybe you meant Richards.

We also have Pivetta & Houck as starters, until Sale returns.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?
