My site, which included an adjustment when some states added deaths that had occurred earlier on June 26th, shows these numbers:
Rolling 7 day average deaths per million:
2.48 on 6/30
1.84 on 6/23
2.21 on 6/16
2.53 on 6/9
2.99 on 6/2
Yes, it has gone down from yesterday, but it's been pretty even for a few days since June 26th:
2.58 (26th with added deaths from who knows when)
2.56 (27th)
2.51 (28th)
2.52 (29th)
2.48 (30th)

Even Sweden is about to drop below us, if present trends continue. That would mean all the European nations that were way ahead of us in deaths per million by day have passed us- some by a lot.
I'm not trying to say a declining death rate isn't good, but within the context of other advanced nations, we could be doing better.

I stopped by my local watering hole the other night . There were plenty of happy and healthy folks there . They were all friendly, but staying well spaced from each other . Everyone was wearing a mask, dropping them only to sip their drinks and munch on the free pretzels. Music was playing . The pool table was busy . The women were beautiful. The beer was ice cold . The friendly, diverse crowd was engaged in a spirited, but cordial discussion about baseball . Politics was strictly off limits. And every third drink was on the house . A great night out ............................. Okay , that didn't really happen . But it could have . ( At least as much as some of the stuff being posted lately) Have a nice day .
The local grocery store H.E.B. here in Texas are again putting limits on certain items you can buy. They just imposed a limit on brisket again. You know it's getting serious in Texas when brisket is being rationed.
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
'Til we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine
