    Pitchers are dropping like flies.

Kluber left after 1 inning, Snell after 2 innings, Ohtani got blown up in the first inning.

We knew injuries would happen. If you throw Strasburg and Kershaw in there, you really start to think if it's something about pitchers and their preparation on short notice for a short season.

Also makes me nervous, because it's not like we can afford a bigger hit to our staff

There seems to be some question about whether Verlander is really done for the year.

If he thinks he'll be back, I'll take his word for it.

Our staff is but a dried reed in a toxic swamp about to get inundated by a tsunami...

I would agree that the weird season is going to have some real negative affects. I don't agree that a big hit would drastically change the Red Sox because I think they were probably on the outside looking in even with expanded playoffs.

True. I felt the same way. Expanded playoffs would have worked out for us last year but not this year.

The baseball Gods are not pleased with the Astros . Don't mess with the baseball Gods . Cheating is always wrong.

That must be why the Yankee ring drought is so pronounced.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Tough break for Verlander. I don't like to see any player go through injury, even if they were cheaters.

On the bright side, in his words, he'll get to spend more time with his family. That can't be a bad thing when you're married to Kate Upton, right? (Although he specifically mentioned spending more time with his daughter and his family, not specifically mentioning his wife. LOL)
