This brings the total to 17 individuals with the Marlins, including 15 players and two coaches. The Marlins remain in Philadelphia for the time being as the first two games of their series against the Orioles in Miami have been postponed. The hope is that the club will be able to resume play in Baltimore on Wednesday, but filling out a roster with major league-caliber talent could be a challenge, calling competitive integrity into question. It could also be irresponsible. The most important thing is the health of the players and anyone they might have come into contact with, but this is a nightmare scenario for the Marlins. And remember, we're not even a week into the season.
Wasn't that the purpose of the 60 man player pool though? If the Marlins can't replace the guys that went down, what are they doing with the other 30 guys in the pool?
I get that you have service time issues or whatever, but it was up to the team to make sure there were suitable replacements for the entire roster.
If the Marlins can't go, they need to forfeit.
