Why use so many relievers today again?why not let Brice pitch 2 or 3 innings...and just be done with it lol

Brice is a two pitch pitcher. Those guys typically don't fare well as starters unless one of those pitchers is a very plus pitch. Brice does not have a plus pitch.
It's modern baseball. Relievers just don't seem to think they can pitch an inning (or part of one), sit down for 10 minutes while their team is batting, and then go back out and do it again. Part of it is the way they are used in the minors. The one's who can do it are generally recently converted starters.
Personally, it's something that ought to be worked on in a normal spring training. Pitch a guy for an out or 2, sit him down and send him back out again. That could be done in an exhibition game or in a simulated one. This year was not a normal spring training, so I'll give a pass on it this time around.
As for Brice, he looks like he could be a fairly reliable middle reliever, but he's been up and down for 5 years seasons for a reason. Three decent games does not warrant an expanded bullpen role.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough
You’ve got guys who can go multiple days in a week and guys who can go multiple innings in a day. There are few guys who can do multiple innings in a day multiple times per week. Brice is a two pitch pitcher, one who doesn’t have a strong track record. If your goal is to foster success and confidence, you try and keep him to what he knows, which is short duration. As a two pitch, short relief guy, he’s going to serve up some meatballs as he gets tired. That 2 seamer will lose depth, the slider will spin. And then, at that point, you’ll all be blaming Roenicke for leaving him in
Hitting major league pitching is tough with the starters equipped with 3 to 5 good pitches and usually high velo, then the pull pen can throw a ton of arms at you with over 95 mph velo and a couple of good pitches. With the advent of the home run or bust mentality one would think averages would be down. Still these are guys who are not looking HR and can hit to all fields. On the Sox, several of the players appear to have little enthusiasm for the game, so guys like Verdugo, Bogie, Vaz and Pillar who continue to battle and have a good attitude stand out.
Does Roenicke have to light a fire under some guys to get them to play or is he so laid back that he isn't a guy that can motivate players. Personally, I think the players should have the motivation without help as their careers depend on them playing with fire. Hit the ball or hit the road.
Roenicke is playing out the string!
His over use of relievers could harm us next season.
What really needs to be assessed is the hitting coach.... at this rate we are going to be last in hitting
