Now 2 for 29 with 12 strikeouts. Not leadoff material.

If RR is making the decision to keep him in the lead off spot.... we should be worried about his decision making!

Why? He won't be the manager next season.

If Beni is to come out of this, he will need help. I don't see that is happening with daily play. If anything, this may permanently harm the kids confidence and value.

He's 26 with over 2,000 plate appearances. I don't think a rough 30 AB stretch is going to harm him immeasurably.

Daily play is exactly how he gets out of it. He’s not going to start hitting while sitting on the bench moping about losing a starting job.

It feels like you’re trying to rationalize why it makes sense to sit him. Occasional break? Sure. But benching him for a stretch makes no sense. Let’s just be happy the worst stretch of his career happened in a season where the Sox chances of winning the AL East were about the same as my chances of winning the Nobel Prize for Joke Writing...

Well, Kissinger did with the Peace Prize, so you got a good chance.

But in comedy (and politics), he’s a one trick pony. He’s like Gallagher that way...

Thank God that there are 2 Gallaghers and not 2 Kissingers though...

Somewhere between 5 and 10 years ago Ortiz had a humoungous slump that lasted a big chunk of the season. Once he came out of it, he never looked back.

Benintendi is no Ortiz, but he is way better than this slump and should get every opportunity to hit his way out.

Agree with mvp 78 that Roenicke is unlikely to return in 2021.

Poor Beni. The guy is in a bad way. Hopefully they can figure out something with him. That's all I got.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.
