Walden and Springs, neither of whom has an "out" pitch nor much command give up 6 runs in 9 outs, with men still on base

Verdugo has as poor pitch selection as anyone. Cannot be too successful just swinging at anything

Good to see JDM come alive with 3 hits. Too bad relievers gave up runs in 5 consecutive innings

I've seen a lot of people complaining about how Roenicke managed the staff last night. I think he's just between a rock and a hard place. He only has a few decent pitchers and he needs to see if any of the AAAA can get through a tough outing and be viable going forward. I think we're just seeing that the throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks can be pretty ugly at times. My guess is that the bullpen looks nothing like this next year.

    Quelle surprise!
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

You don't need to be Nostradamus to see that coming. After we get worked over by the Rays and Yankees, maybe the management will conclude it time to bring in our best young talent and see what if anything that they can do at the ML level.

To me, it seems more important to just close up shop and try not to get anyone important injured.

Who? At what positions? Who are you getting rid of?

The Sox system is not replete with great talent, and this year there are no minor leagues. You’ve got 30 guys at the alternate site, that’s it.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough
