    I don't get this sentiment.

I get it. We were talking about this earlier. On the one hand it would be nice to protect him from getting hurt in meaningless games. On the other, if teams start shutting guys down for that reason, it creates some possible issues for the integrity of the sport.

The thing is that JD is here for one thing. To hit, and hit it hard. He can't run and he is a defensive liability.

At least Pablow could field his position, albeit generating seismic readings at the Weston Observatory. And he could run faster than JD.

    Plus Pablow had comedic value.

You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Can we play spoilers against the Yankees? At least show up to this series and ruin it for them from winning the division.

If he were not 100% healthy, then shutting him down makes sense. But he worked his way back to health and pitched well. It's only 1 or 2 more starts anyway.

When he was working his way back, I initially posted that the Sox should just shut him down. I've changed my mind. The games might be meaningless to the Sox, but many of them are not meaningless to other teams.

Pablo definitely had comedic value to most of you guys.

It is time for the Red Sox to stop being the Yankees' punching bag.

On the other hand, JD had 2 great seasons and 1 great postseason for us.

    Pablo had zero.

Yes he did. It could be argued he was the best power bat in baseball those two years. For that he has some of my respect.

Now he just sucks. And sucks hard.

Trade him to some team that thinks they can fix him. Sox need pitching.
