Another name Bloom could target is James Paxton.

    Too much Yankee stench.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough

I could see the Sox taking a dirt cheap flier on Kluber, assuming he can pass a physical. But Bloom's success story Charlie Morton is also probably on the radar, and he is familiar with Chris Archer as well. And there is the possibility of someone like Cole Hamels or Jake Arrieta receiving a short term deal...

Morton is from Delaware and wants to be on the east coast. Granted, he did say he was going to retire after this contract

    We've all heard that before.

However, in the case of Morton, reportedly he was surprised at how much money the Astros offered him when he heard "2 years at $8million." apparently he assumed it was $8mill total for the two years, not for each year. So he might be more than happy with his earnings and simply go home.

I certainly would not blame him for not signing with a team in as much flux as the current Red Sox...

Morton's K rate plummeted this year and his HR allowed rate is his highest in 10 years. His FB velocity is 3 mph lower than it was 2 years ago. Morton is trending towards done

"Trending towards done" could catch on.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

Aren't we all trending towards done in the grand scheme of things?
