    Cashman

I know his job security seems fine, but surely when the franchise has been spending at these levels of payroll for the past 18 years, just two World Series appearances isn't going to cut it. Makes me wonder how many more years they could go without another appearance - this past decade being the first in history with none - before the pressure mounts.
    Priorities:
    1. Yankees lose
    2. Red Sox win

Hal stated yesterday that both Cashman and Boone will be back next year.

    Great news for Sox fans!
When you say it's gonna happen now

    Seriously? Boone is coming back?

He must have some really good blackmail on Steinbrenner. Some compromising pictures or maybe incriminating emails. Something.

I can't imagine he is coming back due to his managerial acumen and success...

Cashman has made a lot of very good moves and has made the Yankees a contender year-in and year-out.

But a lot of Yankee fans want him gone because of the lack of postseason success.

And the Yankees do some weird things. This year they sign Cole to a 324 million deal, indicating they are all-in for 2020.

But then they fail to make a single move at the trade deadline to bolster their pitching in spite of the losses of Paxton and Kahnle etc.

That was I was thinking. LOL

Actually, I think Cashman does a pretty good job. I'm glad Doofus Boone is returning though.

Who knows why he's coming back? Don't question it, just embrace it.

The playoffs are just too much of a crap shoot. It doesn't matter how great a GM is, or how great a team he puts together. A WS Championship is far from guaranteed, even for a 105 win team. The goal is to have a team that is a contender year in and year out.

I'm just saying that those deadline moves can be key to address weaknesses that have arisen or increase depth.

He's done a lot of big deadline moves- just never at "the right time."

We made pretty big deadline moves in 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018.
