    R.I.P. Spencer Davis

    Another great one passes away.

    He was 81.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

His hits often "knocked it out of the park!"

    (Okay, I'm stretching it.)

Can't believe I hadn't heard of him. I'm in tune (pun intended) with that era of music

The Spencer Davis Group featured a 17yo Steve Winwood, if that helps...

This poster is a big fan of Steve Winwood but his death should not merit a thread on a baseball forum. With all respect, Spencer Davis is a far greater stretch.

This thread could and maybe should be moved to the Entertainment section with the Eddie Van Halen one...

And for the record, Spencer Turnbull and Chris & Khris Davis are all still alive as of this writing.

    Back to baseball...

But Sammy Davis Jr was a better Candy Man than John Candelaria.

(Again, bringing it back to baseball)

Except that Tony Todd was the best Candy Man while Tony Gwynn and Todd Helton were the best Tony and Todd's respectively.

I don't know much about either, but Sammy Davis, Jr. had his name on the golf tournament that I've volunteered at for a decade, so here in CT, most people would probably disagree with that

Oh please. Being the "Best Todd" is an honor akin to being the Scariest Parakeet. After Rundgren, the competition drops off precipitously. Who else is in the top 5? Todd Bridges? Big whoop...
