Newly re-signed SS Jeremy Rivera is celebrating down in PR. In Mayaguez' semifinal sweep of Manati, he went 11 for 17 with 2 2B, 1 3B, & 2 HR. He didn't walk and had a sac fly, allowing him to turn in the rare "avg-higher-than-obp" line of .647/.611/1.235 for the four games.

So any thoughts on who the 2021 Breakout prospect is? Assuming they have a season.
I am going with Hudson Potts. I think another year in AA will put him in position to make some massive steps forward...
I have high hopes for Seabold, Potts & Rosario, but my breakout candidate is Brayan Bello.

Right now, the '21 #4 rated draft pick on MLB.com is a catcher, Adrian Del Castillo from University of Miami... "by just about any measure, the most complete hitter in the 2021 class. A catcher by trade, it’s unlikely he stays behind the plate at the next level, but the bat is special enough to warrant a top pick" (sounds like a report on Bryce Harper, as a teenager).
Hope he's still available at #4. The #2 and #3 guys are shortstops. The #5 and #6 guys are pitchers...

Yes, and while 11 of the top 13 are outside our top 12 prospects, I think Bloom has done a fine job boosting the chances we get some serious input from a few of these farmhands over the next few years. Some may end up as role players, at best. Some will never see MLB, but I think a few will contribute more than role player expectations, and one might not even end up being named Downs.
