    1 year $3.1 million

Now will this mean Verdugo is moving to CF or Renfroe will be spelling Benintendi? Not sure anyone knows yet...

    Maybe.

RHH platoon option for LF? Starting corner? TBD, IMO.

But more importantly, THE RED SOX MADE A MOVE!!!!

It really just muddies the CF waters even more. Hmph...

    Renfroe's splits

    Career OPS

    .717 vs RHP
    .912 vs LHP

Right now, I am leaning towards platoon in LF...

Boston Red Sox sign Hunter Renfroe to one-year contract; outfielder has .912 career OPS vs. left-handed pitchers

Maybe it helps clear Beni's head a little?

    I don't think so.

This might just be for LF with Benintendi. Apparently (and really, not surprisingly) Renfroe's splits are much more suited for LHP.

I think CF is still in play...

The Renfroe signing makes a ton of sense for Boston as it gives them flexibility going forward to see how the CF market develops. Renfroe could be the opening day RF with Verdugo in CF or he could be the 4th OF and play primarily against LHP who he has a career .912 OPS against.

If they can snag a glove first CFer, I'd be happy with putting the rest of the $$$ into pitching.

    @redsoxpayroll
Renfroe added to the payroll here: https://bit.ly/3i1pEAD

Comes with 2 options and three years of control (2022 and 2023 are arbitration-eligible seasons).

    Sox up to ~$170.9MM for 2021. #redsox

I still thiink they add a 2B and a LHH bench bat, probably one that can play 1B like Moreland or Brad Miller..

But the bulk of what is left does need to go to getting some capable pitchers...

I typically hate spray charts, but they are fun in the offseason:

Miller makes too much sense. I'd love to see Mitch back.
