The games are unwatchable. Play down to bad opponents, roll over vs good ones. A manager is expected to get the most out of his team. Boone has gotten the least. Fire the ever living fuck out of Aaron Boone and promote Phil Nevin. The guys is a hard ass who already has the team’s respect. He won’t be a pushover.
Why wait for the AS break?
When you say it's gonna happen now
When exactly do you mean?
Boone will most likely be the first to go. The perception is that the team has underachieved with him as manager. While that is probably true , there is another factor. A number of Yankee players , and the team in general, are simply not as good as they were cracked up to be. And the roster construction is one dimensional. And that is on Cashman. There have been numerous mistakes made. It's not all on Boone. But he will be the first casualty.
Old school is good school.
If Cashman wants to keep his job, he needs to prove that the team is better than they are. This would be to change the manager. If the manager changes and the team gets better, than Cashman is validated. If the team continues to be a 84 win team, then Cashman goes too
The Mariners? As the great announcer Phil Rizzuto use to say, HOLY COW!Seattle just passed the Yanks by a half game.
Pitiful series. At least the first two games were close, but yesterday was embarrassing. If this happened in August I might say the Yanks are toast, but still a lot of baseball to be played. Can the team turn it around? They keep giving us a glimpse of what they could be, and then they fall flat on their faces when they have a chance to get close in the division. I'll still be watching, but every passing week I find myself a little more interested in their farm and a little less interested in the actual MLB team.
As much as I'd like to agree with some that the Yankees are toast, there is far too much of the season remaining to count the Yankees out. As we've already seen many times this season, one or two weeks can make all the difference in the world.
Even though the lineup is too heavily right handed, the Yankees do have a lot of talent on the team. IMO, much of this falls on Boone. He looked genuinely stressed and concerned last night. It will be interesting to see how management responds.
The team has become unwatchable. They can’t move runners, they don’t hit to situations and they seem to lead the league in solo home runs. They absolutely suck with runners on base. It’s like everyone coming to the plate is in a home run derby. That’s on the hitting coach and the manager. The fundamentals of this team suck. When the Yankee dynasty was in effect, every AB was a grind, they hit to situations and they never seemed to make mental mistakes. This team is the exact opposite.
Old school is good school.
Do not be surprised, if the Yanks go with another manager and go on a tear!
