Nice to see German put together back to back quality starts. Granted, they were against the punchless Indians and the O's. His next start is against Houston so we'll see how he performs against a real lineup.
But you can see the rotation starting to take form and pitch deeper into games. Hopefully it lasts.
Can never believe a word the Yankees say about injuries. They initially said they were sitting Judge yesterday just as a routine off day, then thye said he was a little sore but nothing to worry about. And now he's out again.
Judge is awesome (when he plays) but I have a hard time seeing us re-signing him to the large contract that he'll probably demand.
More brain-dead managing by Boone (not walking Mullins) leads to a loss.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1
The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.
Shitty game with shitty luck. Go ahead run doesn't score in the 9th because the ball bounces over the wall, then lose in extras.
Biggest take away for me is how horrible Hicks looks this season. He isn't hitting at all or making good contact, fielding is sloppy/making bad reads/slow for a CF, and his arm is a shell of what it used to be. That third O's run doesn't score against 90% of CFers. His throw home to end the game was weak and offline despite being able to settle under the ball. It's not like we have any better option for CF but at some point he has to produce, otherwise I'd just call up Florial. I'm sure he could hit .140 too, but at least play good defense.
