And not have Barnes for tomorrow's doubleheader?

Sox had a 4 run lead, and Ottavino struck out all three batters in the 8th.

I personally don't like to pick apart games we win, so I'm done talking about this now. Be glad we won a game.

Meh. The ones we win are the most fun to discuss. This was a great win from top to bottom, except for that decision, which I'm afraid will cost us tomorrow. I suspect that what happened was Barnes warmed up when the score was 4-3 and another guy didn't have time to get really warm when the margin became 7-3.

The good thing about this team this year is that time and again the least likely guys come thru. Every game seems to have one or more surprises--like opening that box of chocolates.

Good news today: we showed heart and the offense came through late.

Bad news today: pivetta control issues with 4 walks. I really like him when his control is there.

Fox does I think one game a week, and it's always Saturday at 4 pm. In the past that basically meant you could watch no other game if it was played at 4 pm on Saturday.

No, I did not mean this game was moved to 4 pm to allow the snow to melt.

Definitely. These gutsy come from behind wins are special. Shows what the team is made of.

Once the Fox game(s) switch to Primetime in May, that will be the case. They pick 3 games to start at 7:15 each week and do a regional broadcast, NFL style. Those 3 games are the only 7 PM starts that night

I know this is going against the grain, but in the ninth inning when Eaton hit that ball to deep center, the one thought going through my mind was ....

Hernandez has no clue how to run down that ball, but Bradley would have definitely catch that ball! And it would have been a great way to end the game!

Good managing taking Pivetta out of the game before he could take an ax to the game.

I was thinking that too. I think it will come with time as Kike learns Fenway/becomes a better OF

In general, the bats are starting to heat up. JD and Vaz have gone cold, but in the last week, Xander, Dugie, Devers, and hopefully now Kike have gotten hot. Plawecki too. He was hitting line drives to RF all day. They didn't drop but he barreled them up

I just finished watching the game. I was thinking the exact same thing when they yanked Pivetta.

This was a real nice win- in many ways.
