If we do extend Devers and or Bogey, this winter, depending on how the contract is set up, we may take a luxury tax hit in 2022, which would restrict FA spending.

I think we can work things out. We may only need 3 FAs, this winter:

    1 to replace ERod
    1 to replace Ottavino
1 to replace Richards or Workman/Rios/Andriese or possibly a short term 1B-utility guy.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Either am I. I'm just less a fan of Larry's argument.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

If we go over, just go way over. Why would that restrict spending? Maybe sign shorter 3 year contracts so that it's easier to reset down the road.

I think we need 3 minimum. We may sign 4-6 with an eye on not squeezing the Rule 5 additions.

I think we'll go over the tax line by $10 to $19.9M in 2022.
