I was being ridiculously facetious. Cora, seeing the team slumping at the plate, decided to change the lineup a whole bunch.

Batting Duran 2d vs. a righty starter was genius, but so were all the other changes. Only Hernandez and Plawecki hit where they normally would.

That’s right. We just have ugly stretches but when the offense gets going it’s scary.

Vlad got impaled on that one.

Jays' announcers really depressed about how that inning ended. Seriously, you guys who get most of these games on NESN are very fortunate.

Agree, but with the caveat that this team ain't this good if Cora is not managing.

Anybody know how many games Springer has been back. He appears completely out of it:
    - throws a lollypop to the cutoff man on the Hernandez double
    - the drive to the power alley by JD appeared to fall at the base of the wall...another embarrassment in the OF
    - then he swings at the 0-0 pitch late almost as an afterthought. At the point he swung he would have done as well to keep the bat on his shoulder. There was zero chance he was going to hit that
    - then promptly grounds into an inning ending DP

They have good reason to be depressed--beyond what's happening tonight. Two straight seasons, no home games. That's gotta be tough all around.

    DFA Devers!
"Fans have become more entitled than anything. So they're starting to question our motives for the game, or how we approach the game. The ones that do question -- like who are you? Just shut up and watch the game tonight." --Kevin Durant on players' lack of effort in regular season games.

Yeah Cora needed to shake things up a bit.

Toronto has a stacked lineup but their pitching in both departments, rotation and BP, is a major concern.

OK, I like Cora, obviously, but I honestly don't think moving Devers from 5th to 4th in the order fixed his swing. Either he and the hitting coach did it, or the Jays want to keep the Rays in 2d place (or worse) and sent a short message to the Sox players asking which pitches they prefer be thrown to them.

Pivetta came out of the 1st looking pretty good.
