Another 1.3 year guy, and he K's almost as much as Dalbec.

He's had some great years, but is up and down, a lot.

He's only had over 363 PAs twice in the bigs.

Ward is coming off TJ and has never pitched above A ball. It’s very unlikely anyone picks him.

We focus on Ward because he looks like a good pitching talent. But every organization has some A ball pitcher equivalent to Ward. He hasn’t done anything so special yet to deserve being picked in the rule 5 draft…

That's why I'd trade him over Groome, but I guess mvp thinks otherwise.

If I was an MLB GM (please!!!), I’d take Groome in a trade over Ward right now. And I am far from a Groome fan…

Groome is rated higher than Ward on BTV 4.3 to 3.8.

I put Groome in that deal instead of Ward specifically because he had a higher BTV value. I'm not sure I'd do that deal. I think Ward and Groome are both huge question marks. Not sure which I'd put my money on.

I would assume actual GM's prefer healthy players too.

All other things equal, yes, but they also like upside potential.

That's why Mata still holds much better value.

Danny Duffy was placed on the IL, reducing the chances he gets moved. I'm starting to like Jon Gray as a trade target for the Red Sox (Moon's suggestion) and I'm hearing that the Dodgers and Rays are interested in Gray, two really good organizations.

    The plan:
    (1) Trade for Gray and resign him to a 3-4 year deal.
    (2) Trade for a starting 1b.

    Disco!

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2021-trade-value-31-to-40/

In terms of trade value, Fangraphs has Raffy at 37th highest and Verdugo at 35. Verdugo may have a higher value solely because he has an extra year of control.

CJ Chron could be part of a package deal. It should not add much to the return.

    Cardiac Craig's
He hasn't been "Cardiac Craig" in 2021. Instead, he has been "Historic Season Craig" in 2021: BB/9=2.9, SO/9=15.5, ERA+=750, FIP=1.09
