What was it Ted Williams said about how dumb pitchers can be.

"The dumbest animal on the planet" according to Ted. Mr Williams had no filter, but he was never boring when he spoke about baseball.

Last night's negativism was a bit overboard, to me.

This season is magical. I can't think of a better word to describe some of the wins we have gotten.

I've said it before, "Devers forevers: lock him up! (long term)"

The pen was astounding, especially since the big 2 weren't involved or needed.

    Keep it rolling.

    Keep the mojo rising!
A lot of damage was done by three players tonight. Kike has really come on strongly, Jarren had his best night and Rafi is just an rbi machine. I also though Verdugo is showing signs of getting his offense going. Arroyo is another wild card if he can come back from the hamstring after 10 days. Where will he play though?

I watched the game. I just stayed away from the game thread.

Yes, good to see Verdugo's bat warming up, but what was with that lah-dee-dah dropped fly ball play?

He's starting to make me doubt his character.

Good grief. Yes, I too loved the 6 runs, the two dingers by Devers, etc, but the miracle of this game was losing ERod after 3 outs and holding the Yankees to 1 run over the last 8 innings. The bullpen, no doubt aided by the Yankees anemic lineup, was/were amazing.

Same thing happened in the 3d inning when Cole walked Duran because he stopped throwing heat and wanted to get fancy.

Can we lock down Devers already?

If you mean the one in the 9th inning, I thought he was just running so hard he couldn't hold his glove steady. It did hit his glove, but he was not charged with an error. I did not see anything lah-dee-dah about that play.

Dever’s is amazing, and now has 100 HRs at age 24.
He could be a Red Sox great, if they can lock him up

MVP was (is) the greatest fan of Devers in this board.

I don't think that can be done for less than $300M. Devers might be willing to settle for less, but his agent will insist on more.

I think you are right but he deserves that kind of money.

It was a long run but the ball was hit high. It looked to me like he thought it was going to be an easy play.

I missed teh replay, so I could be wrong.

A bullpen that gave 3 innings from a recent AAA call-up and two from Rios.
