I will day this: Cashman does seem to have a better idea of how to construct a bullpen than does Bloom. The Yankees probably have five or six relievers who are better than anyone the Sox have in the pen. And nearly every close game hinges on the bullpen. We see it all too often.

I think a lot depends on how much money you want to allocate on the pen, and Cashman has spent more and gotten better pen results, for the most part.

We spent big on Foulke and Kimbrel. I'm not sure we did on anyone else.

Being a Yankee fan, I'd think you'd have noticed how much Cashman gets roasted alive. I'm not sure anyone would like that part of his "success," either- or the no rings in how many years?

Not that Bloom is avoiding getting roaster, here in Boston.

Why do our hitters swing at so many pitches outside the strike zone?

Perhaps because umpires are calling strikes on an increasing number of pitches outside the strike zone.

Hitting overall should rebound if called strikes were limited to pitches inside the strike zone outlined on gamecasts.

Make pitcher throw strikes.
