It certainly looks like Bauer was the victim of a money grab. But is that going to be enough to make teams want to sign him again?
From a PR standpoint, the guy is like Curt Schilling with the added bonus of being into rough sex. He carries risks.
I'm just trying to look at it objectively.

He’s always seemed like an asshole, but if he is a victim here I hope he does come back…
The thing is, no criminal charges were ever filed, but nobody would sign him in spite of that.

Well he was originally suspended for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, but you sure right. The independent arbiter did repeal that.
However it wasn’t until just recently that he has been able to speak about the allegations. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know. But he mentioned it in the clip a700 posted.
So until he spoke at all, he still carried some very negative stigma. However if his story is true and he is innocent, he deserves none of that.
As for his future, it really depends on how much play his story gets. If it’s just put out there on some Twitter feed, that does him no good. If he wants his reputation back to just bring a normal asshole as opposed to as asshole with numerous sexual assault allegations, he needs more press.
Of course there will slats be that contingency who thinks he was guilty and just settled the cases aka bought his innocence. (Of course, if you believe that at least know you can only settle a civil case, not a criminal one.)
Is there a civil case on the docket?
I'm not sure I believe everything Bauer said, as well as his accusers. We'll probably never know the full and true story.
It just seems strange how only rich guys never get guilty verdicts on these types of cases.

There isn’t much reason to bring a false claim against a poor guy.

True, but false claims are not always about money: they can be about child custody, revenge, jealousy or not even a false claim.
