10,000 wins by end of 2024 season?

With 41 games remaining in 2022 (60-61 right now), the Red Sox have amassed 9,778 wins as a club (including as the Americans). To reach the 10,000 wins mark by the end of 2024 we will have to average 100 wins a year in 2023 and 2024. I don't see it happening, but I will root for it to happen.

The Red Sox will NEVER get to 10,000 wins without a decent closer . They also need to get rid of Bloom and Cora to have a chance. Also DFA anyone who is or will be a "dead money" contract burden. Also draft better, develop a pitcher once a decade and improve the farm system depth chart.

I’m thinking he meant”never” by the end of 2024, unless…
When you say it's gonna happen now

I'm thinking Vegas was funning us.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

No, I think he knows something we don’t. Time to stock up in supplies and build that bunker

Hard to say. This is a guy who complained that Franchy’s walk off grand slam was just stat-padding…

With 2022 in the books, the Red Sox are now 9796-9098, and will need to average 102 wins each of the next two seasons to reach 10,000 by the end of 2024, which is something they have never accomplished in the 122 years of the franchise (the best was averaging 100.5 recently in 2017 and 2018, the only time the Red Sox averaged more than 100 wins in two consecutive seasons). So it's not going to happen. 9 teams have more wins than the Red Sox (all over 10,000).

Context is important here. Yes, 9 teams have more, but 8 of them are the original National League teams which date back to 1876. The American League didn’t get started until 1901, and among those teams, the Sox trail only the Yankees (who also are behind the NL 8). 25 extra seasons is a lot of games.

Percentage wise, the Red Sox are 5th, behind the Yankees, Giants, Dodgers and Cardinals.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough
