The thing about IKF is that Cashman took on Donaldson's salary to get him. So he's invested in him, in more ways than one. I don't think he's going anywhere.

I doubt he's traded, too, but if they really want to stay below the tax line they are right up against, they will need to dump some salary somewhere.

IKF was included to offset Donaldson's "emotional" baggage.

IKF was the real target, the Yanks took on Donaldson to add upgrade on Gio offensively and balance the money. Gio plus Sanchez were costing $17mil. IKF was $6 mil. So the Twins didn't want to add $11 mil to payroll, so the Yanks took a "still prime" producer in Donaldson who could play 3b
