Again, Bloom asleep at the wheel!

When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

No way would I have wanted Bloom to pay that or more.

Tim Anderson off the boards (CWS pick up $12.5M option.)
    Bassitt decline mutual option.
Mets pick up Vogelbach's $1.5M option.
Twins pick up Sonny Gray's $12.7M option.
Nats decline mutual option on Nelson Cruz.

Give Bloom credit; he just saved Boston another approximate $120M by not overpaying to recruit Diaz and his trumpeeter...

I heard Bloom was only going to offer $95mil and a saxophonist. Diaz’ new walk up song was going to have to be Baker Street…

Baker Street -- now that's a good one to have stuck in my head. Just last month my son and I heard it on Sirius 26 while driving to baseball practice. I admit, I turned up the V with each sax riff... underrated guitar solo at the end, too.

Somewhere, someone is thinking Bloom let Diaz get away.

Same, you can get a SP for that price that will give you a lot more innings and better value.

Those moves all not surprises. Anderson, Vogelbach and Gray would get more on the open market so the teams kept them. Similarly, Bassitt declined his option as he'd get more. Cruz is overpaid so the team declined their portion of the mutual option. Cruz may retire?

There's still time before the next contract is printed.

The thing is, every major signing this winter may be followed by us saying, "I would not have paid that much for _____"
