    Two questions:

How many recent prospect grads and prospects will see playing time in 2023?

How many will see significant time in 2023?

    Recents Grads
    1. Bello
    2. Casas
    3. Wong
    4. Crawford
    5. Winckowski
    6. Duran
    7. Ort

Prospects (current ranking) - have seen some MLB action
    8. Kelly 26
    9. German 24
    10. Seabold 22

Should/might see playing time in 2023:
    11. Rafaela 4
    12. Mata 6
    13. Walter 8
    14. Murphy 13
    15. E Valdez 17
    16. R Hernandez 27
    17. D Hamilton 32

I'm thinking 13-14 get a chance- 14 if I had to pick one number and maybe 10-12 get a good look- I'll go with 11.

I have the highest hopes, from these 10 of the 17...

    Bello
    Casas
    Mata
    Kelly
    Walter
    Crawford
    Wong
    German
    Winckowski
    E Valdez

Pretty amazing, after about 5 years of seeing just Houck as an impact prospect on the big club, we may see 10 to 14 get a shot and maybe 5-7 that may win key roles on the 2023 team.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Bloom's Christmas wish: one of the prospects he traded for gets promoted to fill in for an injured guy and hits bombs, like Valdez, or runs wild, like Hamilton... for about a month, until MLB pitchers figure out huge holes in their at bats.

If you can't have Lynn and Rice, settle for naughty and nice.

Valdez and Abreu have a little bit of potential. At the moment, I can't project them to be MLB regulars, but they are more likely to have an impact than Hamilton.

That was why I answered "Yes."

Had Casas and Bello not been called up, last year, here is where BTV might have ranked our top 5 prospects:

    7. Mayer 55.4
    18. Casas 41.3
    28. Bello 33.2
    80. Rafaela 15.1
    89. Bleis 13.6

Is Romano in our top 5 by the end of 2023?

If he isn't, it means he got worse, as he's 7th now, and Casas and Mata should graduate in 2023- maybe Rafaela, too.

Or others have passed him on the list, and whoever we get at 14 should be a really good player!

    True.

Who in the system, now, might pass Romero?

    Perales?
    Walter?
Wikelman, Anthony or some super young guy?

I like how our farm is shaping up.

We have over 10 players that are ML ready of will be, this season.

We have more that will be ready, next year or to start 2025.

Going farther out is always hard to project, but we have some really promising prospects in low A and the rookie leagues.

I think Hang’em Chaim has done a remarkable job of improving the depth and quality of our position players. He remains very weak at stocking the system with quality arms, however.

Mayer is the jewel of the farm system and I am willing to bet he is untouchable in future trades.

Behind him we have a good half dozen second tier position players future stars and we have not had that since the cherrington days.

It's hard to fault him for taking Mayer over a pitcher, and some of his other non-pitcher picks seem to be rising up as the years go past, too.

    Bloom's Prospect pitching additions:

Via trade, Rule 5 of FA
    Whitlock
    Kelly
    German
    Winckoski
    Seabold
    Kaleb Ort
    Taylor Broadway
    Luis de la Rosa

    Draft or IFA
    Rodriguez-Cruz
    Drohan
    Paez
    Uberstine
    Luis Guerrero
    Noah Dean
    Hunter Dobbins
    Wyatt Olds
    Michael Gettys

Ronaldo Hernandez is having a great winter in the Columbian League

OPS of .932 while hitting .288/.390/.542 with six home runs in 118 at-bats.
