9/24 Red Sox about to win series vs White Sox

Posting this in 4th inning , just to prove the fans don't quit unlike some others .

Sox actually have a 1-0 lead, scoring their 4th run in this 3 game series, thanks to a Wilyer Abreu SOLO HR because no one in front of him could reach base.

Meanwhile Crawford throwing another mini-gem: 4 innings, 1 hit no runs.

Come on Boston, take this series.

Anyone here who is unhappy with Masa's contract should check out what the White Sox paid Beny. Btw, Masa will probably lead the SOX in BA this season. The SOX may have to re-sign Duvall just to have a RH power hitter in the line-up.

You could say that the Red Sox got rained on this season

With 2 outs and raining in the 5th, Crawford walks a guy hitting .071/.291OPS. Put it on a tee and Lee couldn't get a hit.

Immediately followed by a 2 run, 2 out double to fall behind 2-1. There is no redemption for degenerate sinners

Good effort from Raf. That wet grass may have saved him from a serious wrist injury.

Raining on a team that was far from being on fire this season seems like a waste of rain.

    Valdez continues to impress.

I wonder if Cora would have pulled Crawford in the 5th if this was still a season. In fact I don't really wonder. I suspect there is no doubt Cora would have pulled him.

Devers doing his best to not drive in 100. But then he's not facing Cy Young award type pitchers.

Hard to blame Crawford for another offensive shit show by the SOX.

Well the point being that the Sox don't need to win this game, nor the next nor the next after that.

With this game plus 7 more to go, the Sox would need to win at least pull this one out and go 5-2 against the Rays and Orioles ( in the midst of a pennant race) to reach .500 They didn't do it in 2022 , nor will they in 2023. In fact, they likely will not catch the Yankees.

Have no regrets over the Bloom firing , and Cora cannot be blameless . The players ?? What do they have to do with it ?

The best thing they can do with Crawford at this point is build up some stamina.

The hitting continues to be woeful from the Red Sox.

They might not catch the Yankees, but the Bronx Bomb Targets are perfectly capable of coming back down to meet the Sox…
