Indeed. While a .740 OPS at 1B is not great (Cooper's 3 year OPS,) it sure beats sub .300, like Dalbec.

When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Classic Winckowski , known as the "WHIP",. 2 outs, 0-2 count and gives up 2 hits , goes over 40 pitches and needs to get the 3rd out to hold the lead.

Traded for "cash considerations" ? JH must be crying at the loss of cash.

Bye-Bye, Bobby D, Bye-bye. We knew you all too well.

O'Neil is a FA after this season. His salary for this season is 5.85 million.
In 2021 where O'Neil was pretty much injury free, he hit 34 HR's and finished 8th in MVP voting. He's also won a Gold Glove. RIght now he's a bargain, but he probably won't be next year.

He certainly gives us the impression it will finally catch up to him, but hey, they guy gets the third out, when needed, pretty often.

That being said, he looked better, last year.

Eat my shorts, Yoshi goes off the wall in left and turns a double into a single. Actually a typical hard hit off the wall stops many runners from going to 2B

I was hoping the SOX would grab Cooper; I'm surprised they did.
Dalbec was better at grabbing baseballs on the field than grabbing the opportunity to stay with the SOX. The SOX should just release him and let Dalbec try to make a deal with another organization.

Did they DFA Dalbec or send him to AAA?

(They could move Casas to the 60 Day IL.)

For a career National Leaguer, Ian Happ plays the LF wall like he owns it. Good to see Rafaela bang a hard drive off the Wall. Alas, no runs.

Cooper’s got to get to Boston first; he wasn’t on the Cubs active roster so he’s either still in Chicago or maybe back home (wherever that is). We will likely find out tomorrow.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough

I was speculating about tomorrow. Cooper may not be on the roster yet , nor Dalbec off. Casas is still on the 10 day for a another couple days.

I can't help but wonder if Garrett's parents were fans of Gary Cooper?

The longest HR I'd ever seen hit over the LF wall by a SOX player was belted by Dewey Evans. They didn't have distance trackers like now, but it had to have gone at least 450 feet.

So what exactly is your criticism of Yoshida on this play? Please be specific.
"Fans have become more entitled than anything. So they're starting to question our motives for the game, or how we approach the game. The ones that do question -- like who are you? Just shut up and watch the game tonight." --Kevin Durant on players' lack of effort in regular season games.
