Maybe Turner's bat would be revitalized returning to Fenway.
    WAR is good for something.

Justin Turner really is the perfect add for this Red Sox team

    1) will likely be dirt cheap via trade and could likely get the Blue Jays to eat a chunk of his remaining salary too

    2) Fits a need of an upgraded right handed bat that can play 1B

    3) Red Sox fans love him and he loves Boston. Great locker room guy. Good leader.

    4) Playoff experience. Clutch hitter

812 OPS vs LHP this year too.

Nick Senzel was just placed on release waivers, which he very likely clears. But a claim wouldn’t be a financial albatross.

He has a .717 PS vs LHP this year. Not great but he is .783 for his career and was over 1.000 in 2023. He has played 2b, 3b, and all 3 outfield spots. Presumably he could handle 1b, although it isn’t necessary with Romy Gonzalez around. His StatCast shows both clear strengths and weaknesses. Could platoon at 2b with Hamilton or in RF with Abreu.

    He’s a better option than Jamie Westbrook…

His StatCast is impressive when you consider that his Bat Speed is practically the worst in MLB…

He's getting ready for softball in a year or two.

Westbrook has a higher OPS than Senzel against LHP. Not sure Senzel will ever reach the ceiling people once thought he had. He's also a dreadful fielder.

The series before the deadline are:

    3 KC
    3 @ LAD
    3 @ COL
    3 NYY
    3 SEA

Need to go 9-6? That would have them at a 90 win pace at the deadline.

Westbrook has 27 plate appearances. There’s a better than decent chance he doesn’t hold up as is.

Interestingly, Westbrook is 11 days older…
