To me, "oldies" always refers to the 50's - 60's doo wop/pop/surf/Motown/British Invasion stuff, which is now called "golden oldies" apparently. I always loved listening to those radio stations when I worked overnight in the 90's. Radio died when those stations and formats went away.
I define an oldie as anything pre-2000, or in other words, before my lifetime (or thereabouts)

    I agree.

I think the Mt Rushmore of Hard RockTM albums would be:

    Van Halen - self titled
AC/DC - Back in Black (wanted to put Highway to Hell just because I prefer Bon Scott)
    Metallica - black album
Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction

The opening 30 seconds or so of Appetite for Destruction was the soundtrack of my life until this year. 3rd down at UConn football games.

You might actually like that Square Hammer song. It's hard rock you can dance to, it has a sort of Eighties synthpop sound mixed in.

The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill - The Beatles

The Beatles were so stoned, they even let Yoko Ono sing on a song.
