For all of you that know me, here's an update. The previous Cape Cod doctor that ran the rectal cancer tests were wrong. But, due to her incompetence, I know it sounds like a joke, but it started with a wart on the bottom of my foot. I had neuropathry( basically means no feeling ), of my feet. By the time I realized there was swelling and redness up to my ankles. Upon going to my primary care practitioner, she drained and dressed the wound, gave me a prescription for antibiotics, and explicit instructions to take the medication, elevate the leg, and use a heating pad. This turned out to be the absolute worst advise of a diabetic ( especially with neuropathy ). Hence, I ended up with a third degree burn from the heating pad. I ended up having an arterial transplant and graft at the beginning of May. Basically, the inside of my left leg was sliced open from close to my belly button to my ankle ( 130+ STAPLES ), and about 10 inches on the other side ( surgical glue ) of my calf. The 3rd degree burn has hampered me from Jan. to now, with the threat of losing my toe or foot. I've had to endure VNA nurses that ask the same questions ( not medical ) and kill 1/2 or most of my day ( they call between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM and show up 1/2 to 2 hours latter ) , seven days a week. Due to the surgery, I most elevate my leg for most of the day, which means sitting in front of the computer for any duration is out of the question. I 'm sorry that I couldn't run any contests for tickets, etc. as I haven't been able to spend the time in front of the computer. I also apologize to the DB posters that want to talk baseball, and other topics, have some fun, and contribute and enjoy the site. It seems that you have the potential to be valuable members of this site.
Jackson, or other potential or practicing doctors, please explain this better than I can. I have more clarity with your patients. The edema ( swelling ) was referred to as "some swelling for a while", not forever.
Okay guys, I vented and probably exposed more of my information than I should. But, I wanted to let the regulars what was going on, and let the new members where I'm coming from. To get an idea, check the " Prizes and Contest " forum, and or my posts.
