No way, no how, now reason, no nothing I could argue with that. Pantera had many good ones and kept the torch going after some heavy metal bands decided to get melocrapmatic.

Pandora is fun....... lot's of Dio being played when asking to play Pantera. It's like a Rainbow in the Dark with Pandora.

I saw Dio open for Maiden once. He played Dio's Greatest Hits with a few Sabbath era Dio songs. No Rainbow jams like "Man on the Silver Mountain" though.

They were in the Kids soundtrack, along with The Folk Implosion (of Natural One fame). The Folk Implosion were from MA too right?

That was a Lou Barlow (from Sebadoh) side project I believe.

Out of their first four albums, Far Beyond Driven holds a special place for me. Some great engineering on that album. Better low-end frequencies. Phil vocal rhythms were amazing. Musically and sonically it really gelled. Lost track of them after Southern Trend Kill. Their later albums are on the to do list though. At some point. It’ll be a heavy gym day I’d imagine.

I'd rank them: Vulgar > Cowboys (great songs, but shitty production) > Far Beyond (great overall, but a couple of real shitty songs thrown in) >> Trendkill (a few good jams, but mostly boring) > Reinventing the Steel (not good)

I just listened to Far Beyond Driven for 10 minutes. I've never heard it before. Great stuff so far.

It's strange thinking how someone could just not hear one of their favorite bands entire album. But thinking back, if I didn't have the money to buy the tape, or if none of my friends had the tape, how would we have heard it. Or I might not even known about it, if you didn't keep checking the record store and that particular groups albums, how would have you even known they had a new album out.
