Easy. In the 4th inning of the game Cashner gave up the 8 runs. Only 1 was earned because there was an error with 2 outs and 7 of the runs scored after the error. If the error hadn't been made he would only have given up the 1 run.
I would almost bet one of the game announcers used the phrase 'opened up the floodgates' LOL
